Chief Operating Officer, Coal Mining - Major Multinational

(http://www.krishnaninc.com) an executive search firm focused on the coal, energy, infrastructure and power industries is working on a retained search for the following positions located overseas.We are currently working on placing a Chief of Operations for multiple overseas coal mines. This position will be responsible for leading the operations of multiple large open cast coal mines. The individual must have experience in heading the operations of a large coal mine, providing expertise in streamlining operations, developing systems/standards, operating & evacuation procedures, mining equipment selection, etc. This is a highly paid expatriate position with a 2-3 year contract requirement. This senior level position offers an excellent financial package comprising good compensation and excellent benefits. We are on a fast track search for this assignment and are looking for experienced and qualified candidates. Ideal Candidate Profilea) Should have experience of setting up an operation in green field open cast mining.b) Sound experience at spearheading level in managing operations of an open cast Coal mine of a very large capacityc) Sound experience in operating and maintaining an open cast coal mine including environmental compliance measures, ancillary services and improving equipment performance.d) Proven track record in improving all mining processes to optimize the mine’s production, capacity factor and efficiency and in exceeding revenue and O&M targets within operating budget.e) Good knowledge and experience of technology selection for mining.f) Self motivated, strong team leader, experienced in cross-training plant operators to handle diverse functions.g) Experience in public and community relations, regulatory and policy compliance.h) Detailed technical understanding, project management and plant managerial experience.i) Knowledge on global mining business scenario and state-of-the art technology with and ability to comprehend specifications and application strategies is desired.j) Ability to formulate appropriate technical procedures, operating manuals, assisting for business plans and objectives and directing their effective accomplishment through company personnel, and consultants, and contractors.k) Good Strong human relations and verbal / written communication skills necessary to interact with employees, senior company management, and external customers.l) Proficient in English language and ability be able to function as a team player.
